One of the things in this business that really inspires me is the entrepreneurial ideas that people develop to support their communities. Take Harlem Capital Partners for example – a young venture capital firm based out of Harlem.

I met with them recently for VICE TV’s program Hustle, and they pitched me to come on board as an investor. These guys did research and found that women and minorities were getting a tiny piece of the capital available for entrepreneurs, and created a business to support those communities. They developed their VC with the mission to change the face of entrepreneurship by investing in 1,000 diverse founders over the next 20 years.

Their business will in turn create opportunities for other businesses that are run by diverse founders and CEOs.  I’m thrilled to invest in this innovative and engaged group of young leaders. I’m looking forward to seeing how they develop their business, and invest in others, over the coming years.
