Earlier this week Tap into Newark ranked The New Jersey Bell building (recently renamed Walker House) and 155 Washington Street as two of the top five projects to watch in Newark in 2019. The article highlights the flurry of development in the area, with a focus on Downtown Newark.

This reminded me of another story I read late last year in New York Magazine about the revitalization of Downtown Newark. The article by Justin Davidson takes an overarching view of the City, and how the current development in the area is a balance between ushering in the new, while supporting the existing community. Some innovative ideas and developments are captured in the story – including a few of L+M’s projects like the Hahne & Co and Walker House buildings as well as the rehabilitation of Georgia King Village.
