Earlier this month, leaders from across the construction industry gathered to celebrate women in construction, including two of our own from L+M.

I’d like to congratulate Bernadette Amarosa and Amy Cordone, winners at this year’s Outstanding and Next Generation of Women Builders Annual Awards. The annual awards recognize exceptional women in the construction industry and are an opportunity to celebrate the many women working in various aspects of the construction industry from preconstruction and design to operations and project management, and who “serve as outstanding role models and sterling examples of professionals who are making their mark in their own careers as well as impacting the lives of others.”

Our winners, Bernadette (far left) and Amy (second from right), represent two sides of our construction business. Bernadette Amarosa is a Project Manager working on Site 4 at Essex Crossing, a multi-site project on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, while Amy Cordone is VP of Operations, working closely with all teams in Builders Group on the day-to-day management of construction operations and its support.

Construction is a field where women are often underrepresented. Bernadette and Amy are just two of the women within L+M Builders Group, the construction arm of our business, and we are proud of them both.  They are role models not only for other women within the company but the broader industry as well. As winners in the Outstanding category, they demonstrate “passion, perseverance and tenacity,” qualities we already know of here at L+M, and we are thrilled that they have been recognized publicly as well.

Congratulations to Bernadette and Amy!
